Shah Rukh has formally accepted to become the brand ambassador of the state by giving a letter of consent, told chief minister Mamata Banerjee. Shah Rukh Khan currently owns the Kolkata Knight Riders cricket team which plays in the Indian Premier League.

Chennai, 6 February 2012: The first look of the Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming movie Kochadaiyaan has been released.

The first poster of ‘Kochadaiyaan’ portrays Rajinikanth in a six pack avatar. The movie which is India's first performance capture photorealistic film. This technology was first used in the James Cameron directed movie Avatar and also in Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tin Tin.

Kochadaiyaan to be released in 3D will see Rajinikanth playing an eighth century legendary Pandya king named Kochadaiyaan Ranadhiran who was known for his great courage.

Kochadaiyaan is directed by Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya and will also see bollywood actor Jackie Shroff in a cameo. The story, screenplay and dialogue of the film is written by KS Ravikumar who has directed several other Rajini films. The music for the film is composed by none other than Academy Award winner AR Rahman. The film is being co-produced by Eros International and Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited. It is scheduled for release in August 2012.

New Delhi, 5 February 2012: Times of India has released the results of the poll conduted for finding out the 'Most Desirable Men and Women of 2011'. The online voting to find the DQ (Desirability Quotient) ended on January 15, 2012 at www.itimes.com/poll hit 3.74 lakh votes.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan was rated as the most desirable man in India 2011 followed by Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan. John Abraham is ranked fourth, and Shah Rukh Khan is ranked eighth.

Actress Kareena Kapoor is the most desirable woman of 2011 followed by Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone.

The list is dominated by Bollywood stars, however some cricketers and heroes from the south Indian film industry is also enlisted. MS Dhoni is the highest ranked celebrity from the sports world followed by Virat Kohli, Zaheer Khan. South Indian stars who finds a place in the list include Mahesh Babu (5), Suriya (11), Ajith (12), Dhanush (19).

The first 14 in the list of desirable women are dominated by bollywood actresses. Actress Vidya Balan who rocked Bollywood with her bold performance in 2011 is ranked sixth. Leading lady Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is less desirable and is ranked 10th. Ladies from the south, Shriya Saran who is ranked 15th, Shruti Haasan, Asin, Trisha are ranked from 15-20. Interestingly reality show star and adult actress Sunny Leone is ranked 21, model Poonam Pandey at 36 etc.

Hosanna Song from 'Ek Deewana Tha' sparks protest from Christian organisation

New Delhi, 20 January 2012: The song 'Hosanna' from the upcoming bollywood movie Ek Deewana Tha has raised protest from a christian organisation named Christian Secular Forum (CSF). According to the organisation, the word Hosanna cannot be used as a phrase in a song. Hosanna means 'Glory to God' and is a prayer in the Bible and is sacred to Christians and Jews.

The lyrics of the songs is penned by Javed Akhtar and the music is composed by Academy award winner AR Rahman. The songs has been immensely popular among the youth by now.

AR Rahman in a press statement clarified his views on the controversy as follows:
“I had spent several months doing research before composing and writing the songs for the film. I had also consulted friends, who are Christian, about the usage of the word ‘Hosanna’.”

The movie Ek Deewana Tha directed by Gautham Menon, is the remake of the 2010 Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa which had the same director and music director. The term 'Hosanna' was also used in the song in the tamil version too, which raised no criticism.

Mumbai, 10 January 2012: Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal will launch his own brand of perfume in Mumbai on January 12. The 'Arjun Rampal Perfume' named Alive is produced by Drom Fragrances International and will be distributed worldwide by Baccarose.

The perfume will be available in six scents which has been chosen by the actor which took over six months to finalise.

Currently only two Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan have their own brands of perfumes.

Madhuri Dixit will be the seventh Indian film person to be inducted in the Museum. Currently Indian actors Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai and Kareena Kapoor's wax statues are present in the prestigious wax museum.
