New Delhi, 12 November 2012: The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has launched the new version of India's low cost tablet computer - Aakash 2.0 on National education day on November 11.
Aakash Version 2.0 is a full-fledged tablet computer developed by IIT Bombay in association with the
Ministry of Human Resource Development.
Aakash 2.0 features technology-enabled education for students and teachers which includes Ten Thousand Teachers Training Programme – a live video interaction with participants , Clicker applications for real time feedback in country-wide classroom, Daisy
Books for differently-abled students, NCERT content , GNU Khata- an accounting package for
barefoot accountants in rural areas and Scholarship Portal integrated with Aadhar etc.
