Track Location of Trains on Google Maps at http://railradar.trainenquiry.com

New Delhi, 13 October 2012: Indian railways has launched a dedicated online service to track trains running in India real time. The RailRadar application available at http://railradar.trainenquiry.com/ allows users to track the movements of trains currently running in India.

This live tracker is shown on an interactive map and allows users to watch the movements of trains which are currently running in entire India. RailRadar is launched by Indian Railways Center for Railway Information System (CRIS) in assoication with RailYatri.in .

The RailRadar features an interactive Map in which the current location of trains has been marked in blue and red arrows. Upon clicking the trains, the site will display information of the train which will include the starting date, nex halt, last update, latest status, stops etc. Blue icons are trains which run on time and red icons are those trains which run late. Zoom in and Zoom out functionality is also provided to track the exact location of the train.

The service provides real-time location with a typical + or - 5 minutes accuracy. As per reports this is the first time any public transport system can be tracked in real time basis online or mobile.
