New Delhi, 3 October 2012: The assembly elections for the states Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat will beheld on November 4 and December 13, 17 respectively, announced the Election Commission of India in a press release.
The counting of votes in both states will be held on December 20, 2012.
Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh is currently ruled by Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress being the second largest party in those states. Gujarat has 182 assembly seats whereas HP has 68 seats.
The electoral rolls of all the existing Assembly Constituencies in the States of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh have been revised, with reference to 01.01.2012 as the qualifying date, and finally published on 31.08.2012 and 09.08.2012 respectively.
