Mary Kom wins Bronze Medal in Boxing, Fourth Medal for India


London, 8 August 2012: Indian boxer MC Mary Kom secured Bronze medal when she was defeated in the 51 kg semifinals by Nicola Adams of Britian at the London Olympics 2012.

Mary Kom was lost the fight with a score of 6-11 by the second seeded Nicola.

Later Mary Kom apologized for winning bronze medal and not a gold medal for India. "My whole country was hoping for me to win a gold medal, and I am sorry I have not come back with that ", she said.



Meanwhile India's 800m runner Tintu Luka has qualified for the semifinal of the event with a timing of 2:01.75s. She finished third behind Mariya Savinova of Russia and Alice Schmidt of USA.
