Mumbai, 31 July 2012: India defeated Sri Lanka in the fourth ODI to win the five match cricket series 3-1. Virat Kohli scored century 128* in the match in which India chased the target of 251 in 42.2 overs.
Sri Lanka batted first and scored 251 for the loss of eight wickets. The top three batsman Tharanga (51), Dilshan (42) and Thirimanne (47) performed well in their line up. Manoj Tiwary who was introduced as an extra batsman in the Indian team took four wickets in the full spell of ten overs.
Indian batsmen initially struggled in the chase by loosing Gambir for a duck and Sharma for 4 runs. It was the partnership between Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina in the fifth wicket which lasted over 100 runs secured the victory for India.
