Rafael Nadal wins French Open


Paris, 11 June 2012: Rafael Nadal won the seventh French Open title defeating world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the final held today. Nadal won the final   6-4, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 , in the match which was postponed to the second day due to rain.

Nadal won his 11th Grand slam title. He is five titles away from Roger Federer who holds the world record of 16 Grand Slam titles. He also surpassed the Bjorn Borg who had won the French Open for six times.



 Eventhough Nadal won the tournament,  Novak continues to be the World No. 1.
