Champions League 2012 Twenty20 cricket tournament in October


Chennai, 26 June 2012: South Africa will host the Champions League 2012 Twenty20 cricket tournament, announced CLT20 technical committee today.

The Champions League 2012 will be held during the month of October in four venues in South Africa viz Cape Town, Johannesburg, Centurion and Durban.

The following teams will compete in the tournament

 Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians (India), Auckland Aces (New Zealand), Trinidad & Tobago (the West Indies), Sydney Sixers, Perth Scorchers (Australia), Titans, Lions (South Africa).

Teams from Sri Lanka and England will be decided after the completion of their domestic T20 season.

Mumbai Indians is the current holder of the Champions League trophy. They defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in the finals held at Chennai in 2011.
