New Delhi, April 28, 2012: South Korean mobile phone manufacturer became the No. 1 handset maker overtaking the existing leader Nokia for the first time.
Samsung shipped 93.5 million handsets in the first quarter of 2012 whereas Nokia could ship only 82.7 million, revealed a study undertaken by Strategy Analytics.
Nokia from Finland was the world leader in mobile phones from 1998 when it took the first spot from Motorola. iPhone maker Apple is the world's third-biggest maker of mobile-phones with 35.1 million shipments. Source: TOI
