Aakash makers Datawind launches Ubislate 7, Ubislate 7C tablets

New Delhi, 27 April 27, 2012: Datawind, the UK based firm which makes the low cost tablet ‘Aakash’ for the Indian government has launched two low cost tablets with the same specifications as ‘Aakash II’ in the general market.

The two tablets named Ubislate 7 and Ubislate 7C will be priced at Rs. 2999 and 3999 respectively.

Both the tablets features and 7 inch display, Cortex A8 800 MHz processor, 256 RAM, Android 2.3, GPRS, 3G ready, Wi-Fi and comes with 3200 mAh battery.

The Ubislate 7 comes with a resistive touch screen and a 2 GB of memory whereas the Ubislate 7C comes with a capacitive touch screen and 4 GB memory.

The company will deliver the tablets based on the bookings done via their official website. Currently the company claims to have a backlog of 30 lakh tablets for India.
