Virat Kohli shows middle finger to crowd, fined India vs Australia II Test Sydney

Mumbai, 5 January 2012: Virat Kohli, Indian cricketer who is currently on tour in Australia for test series has been fined 50 percent of the match fee for showing his middle finger to the crowd. The incident which occured in the second day of the second test between India and Australia at Sydney.

 As per reports, Virat Kohli who was fielding near the boundary line was irritated by the comments of some people in the crowd eventually showed a unacceptable finger gesture to the crowd. After watching the video replays of the incident and the explanation by the player, the match referee Ranjan Madugalle announced the punishment. Kohli explained his version to his fans and media via twitter as follows: "I agree cricketers don't have to retaliate, what when the crowd says the worst things about your mother and sister, the worst I've heard,"
