India's Most Expensive Bath Soap - Mysore Sandal Millennium Sandal Fragrance Soap


Bangalore, 27 January 2012: Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KS&DL) has launched India's most expensive bath soap - Mysore Sandal Millennium sandal fragrance soap. One unit of the soap will costs Rs. 720.

The soap manufactured and marketed by Karanataka state owned KS&DL was launched by Karnataka Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda.

 The Millennium soap is produced from exclusive vegetable oils mixed with special conditioners, milk protein, moisturizers, Vitamin-E, Jojoba-Mimosa and pure sandalwood oil. The claims to improve complexion, moisturizes skin and retains the skin glow.The high cost is due to the presence of sandalwood oil in the soap. As per the company the sandal soap contains 3% pure sandalwood oil in it. The current value of 1 litre of sandalwood oil in India is Rs. 2 Lakhs.

The present most expensive soap brand sold in India is Mysore Sandal Classic, also produced by KS&DL, priced at Rs 75.

KS & DL plans to sell the luxury soap through five-star hotels, hypermalls, super bazaars and other major stores and also to export the soap to the UK, US, Malaysia, West Asia etc.
