Apple replaces HP as the No. 1 PC maker in the world


New Delhi, 31 January  2012: Apple Inc became the world's biggest computer manufacturer overtaking Hewlett-Packard (HP) in the sales accounted during the fourth quarter of the financial year. Apple secured the top spot with the help of its flagship model - the iPad tablet.

According to the research firm, Canalys, the global personal computer market rose 16 percent with the support provided by the tablet market, but the non-tablet market fell 0.4 percent last year.



Apple sold 37.04 million iPhones and 15.43 million iPad tablets last year and plans to launch the new version of both in the coming year. Dell computers comes third in the sales.
