Sebastian Vettel wins Indian Grand Prix


New Delhi, 31 October 2011: The inaugural Indian Grand Prix F1 race has been won by Germany's Sebastian Vettel of the Red Bull Racing Renault team. Vettel finished the 308 km race in  1 hour 30 minutes and 35 seconds. Jenson Button of the McLaren Mercedes team finished second 4.8 seconds behind and Fernando Alonso of Scuderia Ferrari finished third.

Sebastian Vettel also won the distinction of the fastest lap in the circuit with covering the 5.14 km  in just 1 minute 27 seconds.

The final standings are as follows:

2. Jenson Button +8.4 sec
3. Fernando Alonso +24.3 sec
4. Mark Webber +25.5 sec
5. Michael Schumacher +65.4 sec 6. Nico Rosberg +66.9 sec
7. Lewis Hamilton +84.2 sec
8. Jaime Alguersuari +1 Lap



The race which was held at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida was a huge success in terms of participation and audience.

The next race of this season will be held at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, 13 Nov 6:30pm
