ACTVC Arasu Cable TV Corporation Channels relaunched in Tamil Nadu

Chennai, September 2, 2011: The Jayalalitha led Tamil Nadu government has relaunched the Arasu Cable TV corporation which was the State-run cable TV service in Tamil Nadu. The relaunch of Arasu Cable TV was a poll promise made by Jayalalitha to provide affordable television channels to the people of Tamil Nadu. Earlier the ACTVC was remaining dormant due to the monopoly of SUN Television network which had support from the DMK. ACTVC would offer 90 channels for a monthly fee of Rs. 70 through 34,000 multi-system operators and cable TV operators, serving 1.45 lakh connections.
