According to a media report, King Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma if he owned treasure the Sree Padmanabha Temple at Trivandrum would become the richest royal in the world. The current unearthed wealth from the Sree Padmanabha Temple accounts to about $22 billion and still counting.

According to history, in 1750, humble kings of Travancore has surrendered their wealth to Lord Vishnu (Sree Padmanabha) the diety of the temple and later ruled the state as the servant of the Lord.
