Top 10 Newspapers, Top 10 Magazines in India 2011

Kochi, June 21, 2011: The results of the IRS (Indian Readership Survey) first-quarter 2011 which calculates the readership of newspapers and magazines in India has been published. The survey is done by the Media Research Users Council (MRUC) and Hansa Research.

As per the results, Dainik Jagran, the Hindi daily has the most readership in India. The news paper has 15910000 readers followed by Dainik Bhaskar with 14016000 readers. All the top 10 publications in India were newspapers. The Times of India which secured the 7th position is the only English newspaper. The top 10 comprises of 5 hindi dailies, 2 Malayalam dailies, one Marathi and Tamil daily each.

In the list of Top 10 Magazines Malayalam womens magazine Vanitha topped with 265000 readers followed by Hindi career magazine Pratiyogita Darpan. India Today (English) came inthe 4th spot and India Today (Hindi) took the 6th spot.

Malayala Manorama (Malayalam) was ranked top in the regional language category followed by Lokmat (Marathi) and Daily Thanthi (Tamil).
