Swami Nigmanada of Haridwar undertaking hunger strike dies in hospital

Haridwar, 14 June 2011: Swami Nigmanada who had been on a fast since February 19, 2011 died yesterday. He was undertaking hunger strike against corruption and illegal mining along the Ganga near Haridwar.

Swami Nigmananda, a lesser known sadhu from Haridwar undertook a 114 day fasting died at Jolly Grant hospital where yoga guru Baba Ramdev was also admitted.

Meanwhile his followers has accused the hospital authority of poisoning the Swami during treatment and asked the government to conduct a investigation.
