Smallest surviving Baby in India weighs 495 gm Lowest weight of a Baby recorded

The smallest surviving baby in India has been recorded in the Oyster and Pearl Hospital, Pune.

The baby named Saili Laxman Pawar which weighs just 495 gm was born to Shaila Pawar, a 36 old mother.

The mother delivered a very low weight baby in the 27th week of her pregnancy during October 2010, and the baby had a high risk of survival. Luckily there were no complications and the baby now weights 2.4 kg.
