WASP-12b, new planet discovered by Nikku Madhusudhan, Indian scientist

A new planet named WASP 12b at around 1200 light years away has been discovered by Nikku Madhusudhan of Princeton University and his colleagues at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, US. The planet called WASP-12b is a carbon-rich planet and with no traces of any life in it, reports HT.

The planet is sized 1.4 times the mass of Jupiter.

Nikku Madhusudhan, the Indian scientist who is behind this discovery is an alumni from Benares Hindu University.
