The Kochi IPL team is no more

The owners of Kochi's Indian Premier League (IPL) has informed Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that they are withdrawing from the IPL, reports Sify.

According to the report, Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) secretary T.C. Matthew confirmed the news.

Earlier the Kochi IPL franchise which includes Gaekwad brothers, Anchor Earth, Parinee Developers, Rosy Blue and Film Wave was given a 30-day notice to settle their ownership pattern, but unfortunately the owners failed to sort out their internal problems.

The IPL teams were reduced to eight after the two teams Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab were disqualified from the tournament.

The IPL governing body will conduct auction for the eighth team by December 15.
