Robert Edwards wins Nobel Prize for Medicine 2010

British physiologist Robert Geoffrey Edwards wins the 2010 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his in vitro fertilization procedure.

Robert Edwards, CBE (born 27 September 1925) is a British physiologist and pioneer in reproductive medicine.

He is one of the pioneers in the science dealing with conception through IVF, which led to the birth of the first test-tube baby, Louise Joy Brown, on 25 July 1978.

Edwards was ranked 26th in The Daily Telegraph's list of 100 greatest living geniuses.
