The Only Indian company to sponsor FIFA World Cup Football Tournament

Mahindra Satyam, the IT Major from India has became the only Indian country to associate the FIFA world cup football tournament 2010 as one of the main sponsor. Mahindra Satyam is also the official IT solutions provider for the World Cup.

The Mahindra Satyam Logo are displayed in all 10 stadium at South Africa. The company is the first Indian firm to sign a Rs 90 crore contract with FIFA, as a sponsor and official IT provider for the 2010 and 2014 editions of the tournament.

The deal was signed in 2007 by the infamous Ramalinga Raju, the former Satyam Chairman.

The FIFA world cup is not so popular with the cricket savvy youth of Indian sub-continent, and the live telecast penetration is not so much of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However companies such as Vodafone, Airtel DTH,e Nokia, Samsung Hero Honda, Coca-Cola, Micromax and Parle Agro had been signed as top advertisers with ESPN Star Sports, the official telecast partner of the world cup.
