Katakam Sudarshan, Mallojula Venugopal, Kadari Satyanarayan Reddy, Thippiri Tirupathi Maoist Naxal Commanders behind Dantewada massacre

As per various media reports the Naxal commander from Andhra Pradesh Katakam Sudarshan is behind the massacre of 73 CRPF police men at Dantewada in Chattisgarh yesterday.

It is reported that four Central Committee members of the CPI (Maoist) from Andhra Pradesh are behind the attack. They are: Katakam Sudarshan alias Anand, head of the Central Regional Bureau (CRB); Kadari Satyanarayan Reddy alias Kosa, secretary of the Dandakaranya Special Zonal committee (DKSZC); Thippiri Tirupathi alias Devuji, who guides the CRB in military issues, and Mallojula Venugopal alias Bhupati, a member of the CRB and in charge of Dandakaranya.

While Katakam Sudarshan hails from Adilabad district, the other three are from Karimnagar district. Sudarshan, alias Anand alias Mohan alias AN alias Birenderji, is a central committee member of the CPI (Maoist).

Sudarshan has been part of the Naxal movement for 30 years, wanted in about 17 cases and carries Rs 12-lakh reward on his head. The wife of Sudarshan, Sadhana, was a Naxal leader too and was killed in an encounter a few years ago.
