IPL New teams - Sahara Group, Videocon (Pune), Adani (Ahmedabad) MCC, ICICI bids

The bid for the two new teams for the fourth edition of Indian Premier League 2010 will be opened on March 7, 2010. Major business groups such as Sahara Group, Videocon, MCC, ICICI, Adani etc have submitted their bids. The cities they represent inlcude include Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Kanpur, Dharamsala, Indore, Cuttack, Gwalior, Visakapatnam, Rajkot, Pune, Vadodara and Kochi

The first eight cities already have cricket stadiums while stadiums are in construction in the last four cities. The base price for the bidding for the two new franchisees are $225 million

Bollywood stars like Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Priyadarshan (director) and Ajay Devgn had also showed interest in buying teams. Adani group is bidding for Ahmedabad while Videocon led P Sports Vision supports Pune francisee
