DTN is not only used merely for internet browsing, it is a netword for simplifying space command and control functions—such as power production or life-support systems—crucial for future space initiatives.

In November 2008 NASA tested the network by sending space images to and from the EPOXI spacecraft, 32 million kilometers from Earth. NASA plans to equipp missions from 2011 with the Space Internet.

Nikola Tesla born on 10 July 1856 at Croatia was an inventor and a mechanical and electrical engineer. Tesla's theories led to inventions in polyphase power distribution systems, AC motor, wireless communication (radio), robotics, remote control, radar and computer science, nuclear physics, etc.

Sunil Gavaskar, the greatest test batsman of India will turn 60 years of age today (10th July 2009).

Sunil Manohar Gavaskar popularly known as Sunny Gavaskar was born on 10 July 1949 in Bombay, Maharashtra.

He is regarded as the topmost opening batsman in test cricket and a good player fo fast bowling. He has captained India, but his record as a captain is less impressive. Gavaskar held the record of 34 Test centuries for almost two decades before it was broken by Sachin Tendulkar in December 2005.

A book by cricket journalist Debasish Datta titled "Sunil Gavaskar, Cricket's Little Master", will be unveiled in connection with Gavaskar's 60th birthday.

Indian Institute of Ahmedabad in their website has thrown light to some information about the CAT 2009 which will be a Computer-based test (CBT) from this year onwards.

According to the faq the test will be a computer based test where the candidate will read the questions on a computer terminal and choose an answer by clicking on the correct option. The format of the test will remain the same except that a candidate reads question on a computer terminal and clicks on the correct answer.

The test can be taken only at designated test venues in about 25 cities across India and not via online (internet). The CAT advertisement will be available in the leading newspapers in August 2009. The test will be conducted in ten days from November 2009 onwards and the results will be declared by the end of January 2010.

The fee for the test will be Rs. 1400 and Rs. 700 for SC/ST candidates and will be available as CAT 2009 Voucher from bank branches. The candidates should register for the test online via the cat website. Candidate should also have a valid E-mail account for completing these processes.

The photograph is from a prison scene from the movie New York in which John has done a complete nude shot. John is tortured in the scene in an American prison in suspect to be a terrorist.

Complaint has been filed against the actor under Sections 292 and 294 of the Indian Penal Code which could offer a jail term of two to five years. The court has also ordered to probe into why the complaint which was furnished to the Delhi police earlier was not entertained.

India will launch its fist locally developed nuclear submarine INS Chakra soon. The submarine which costs $2.9 billion and weighs 5,000-ton was developed under the ‘Advanced Technology Vessel (ATV)’ project at Visakhapatnam.

The launch of the submarine will make India the sixth country in the world to make a nuclear submarine. The new nuclear-powered submarine is said to be a based on the Russian Akula-I class submarine. Its nuclear reactor has been developed at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research at Kalpakkam.

The INS Chakra ATV will carry submarine-launched ballistic missiles, which were recently tested in the Bay of Bengal.

Earlier Indian Navy has operated another nuclear submarine, by the name INS Chakra, leased from Russia for three years between 1989 and 1991.

The submarine is set to be launched on July 26th (Vijay Divas) or August 15th (Indian Independence Day) as per reports

Malayalam actor Mohanlal has formally joined as Lt. Colonel rank in Territorial Army (TA)of India today.

Army chief General Deepak Kapoor handed over the title of Lt. Colonel by pinning the Ashoka Lion and star on Mohan Lal's shoulders, at a ceremony in South Block, New Delhi. He will join the Kannur Terriers, 122 Infantry Battalion (TA) of Madras Regiment.

Mohanlal has been conferred the title of Lieutenant colonel for his contributions as an actor in the movies depicting the life of soldiers like `Kirti Chakra' and `Kurukshetra', directed by Major Ravi.

He is the celebrity to join Territorial army this year after cricketer Kapil Dev, and is the first Indian actor to join the Territorial Army.

The Territorial Army is part of Regular Army in which civilians can do their routine jobs and offer army service when the nation needed them. Duties of the TA include assisting civil administration during natural calamities and maintenance of essential services in situations where life of the communities is affected or the Security of the Country is threatened etc.

Presently the Territorial Army has 42 infantry battalions with a strength of 40000 persons along with many industrialists, politicians and eminent personalities.

Mohammad Ashraf, a civil engineer turned up in Indian tennis star Sania Mirza's house and demanded her to marry him. He also wanted to cancel Ms. Sania's engagement with Sohrab Mirza, scheduled for tommorrow.

Later Ashraf and his friend Devadeesh Mohanty has been arrested for the charges of creating nuisance and tresspassing, as per reports.

According to the youth he could not marry anyone else, as 'Sania was born for him' and would commit suicide if she marries anyone else.

Imran Mirza, Sania's father has also complained that Ashraf was sending text messages and making threatening calls to his daughter for marrying him.

Mr Ashraf has been identified as a civil engineer student settled in Bangalore who hails from Malappuram, Kerala.

Google has announced a new project the Google Chrome Operating System. Google Chrome OS will be an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. The open-source code will be made available later this year and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the largest exporter and second largest car manufacturer in the country, has launched two variants for its premium compact car i20. The two models include 1.4 litre petrol Automatic transmission and 1.4 litre CRDi Diesel model.

The Hyundai i20 diesel comes with a 1.4L CRDi engine with a maximum power of 90PS@4000rpm and a peak torque of 22.4kgm@1750~2750 rpm. Google is going to shed off the 'Beta' tag from its popular applications atlast. Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Apps and Google Talk are out of Beta and the" Beta" tag will be removed from the product logos today, Google announced.

Beta version, is a website or online project either in pre-release, during testing or shortly after release to the public. A "beta version" is the first version released for the purpose of evaluation and to find bugs.

Gmail has been in beta version for the past five years. Atlast Google has decided to shed the beta tag under the logo because it puzzles some people, particularly those who subscribe to the traditional definition of "beta" software as not being yet ready for prime time.

Google also says that it will continue to innovate and improve upon the applications whether or not there's a small "beta" beneath the logo.

New Google Apps features are also announced such as mail delegation, mail retention and ongoing enhancements to Apps reliability.

And for those who still like the look of "beta", Google has options to to re-enable the beta label for Gmail from the Labs tab under Settings. That's too good!

Indian Captain Mahendra Singh celebrates his 28th Birthday today. Dhoni was born in 7 July 1981 in Ranchi, Bihar to Pan Singh and Devaki Devi.
He has a sister named Jayanti and a brother Narendra. Dhoni studied at DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali.

Dhoni is regarded as one of the succesful captains of India. Under his captaincy, India won the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, CB Series of 2007-08 and the Border-Gavaskar trophy 2008, He became the first Indian player to win the ICC ODI Player of the Year award (in 2008) , the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award and the Padma Shri. Dhoni was also named as captain of the Wisden's first-ever Dream Test XI Team in 2009.

India won the four-match ODI series against West Indies 2-1 after the final match has been abandoned due to rain. This is India's fifth consecutive one day series victory and a series win in West Indies after 7 years. India has won five match series 2-1 in 2002 and lost 4-1 during 2006.

The last match was washed away by rain when West Indies was facing trouble with 27/1 in 7.3 overs. India won the first game by 20 runs and third game by 6 wickets where as West Indies won the second game by 8 wickets in the four match series. MS Dhoni topped the batting list with 182 runs followed by Yuvraj Singh 168 runs. Ashish Nehra and Dwayne Bravo took six wickets each. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, was declared "Man of the Series".

Chennai silks the largest textile chain of showrooms in South India has opened their first showroom at Kerala in Kochi. Dileep, Malayalam film star, will inaugurate the showroom of the Chennai Silks Mahatma Gandhi Road, North end.

The nine-floor showroom has an area of over 1.25-lakh sq.ft.
