The Call Centre is located at Delhi and the calls are responded to by professional manpower in English, Hindi and selected regional languages with call recording system.
When the complaint is registered, immediately it is given a unique number. Thereafter automatically, an acknowledgement receipt with all details is sent to the concerned authorities within 15 minutes of the receipt of the complaint. This number can be used as reference for all future communications and feedback. Once the grievance has been received by the Institution, the concerned officer looks into the merit of the complaint and forwards the same for action. Once the matter has been marked to the concerned officer for action, it is tracked till the necessary actions are taken. If the complaint is not acted upon within the specified timeframe, the senior officers get a reminder either by email or by phone calls. The level of reminders would be escalated at institutional as well as executive levels if required. This ensures the accountability of all authorities in the chain. After the necessary actions have been taken, the concerned student gets the call/email confirmation containing the details of the complaint and related actions taken.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan got into trouble with his comments about Prophet Mohammad in an interview in the magazine Time’N Style-Luxury. A complaint has been lodged against him with respect ot this by the Mumbai Aman Committee (MAC) in the Bandra police station. SRK later clarified that his comments to a magazine were misinterpreted due to a “writing error”.The controversial statement published in the magazine is as follows

Tomoji Tanabe, the world's oldest man aged 113, died in Japan today. He was certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's oldest man when he was 111 years old.Tanabe, who was born September 18, 1895, had eight children — five sons and three daughters. The former city land surveyor also had 25 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Sarod maestro Ali Akbar Khan passed away in San Francisco at 1000 am(IST) reports RediffAli Akbar Khan was a maestro in Sarod who made the first Western LP recording of Indian classical music, and the first television performance of Indian music, on Allistair Cooke's Omnibus, sowing the seed for the wave of popularity of Indian music in the 1960's.
He founded the Ali Akbar College of Music in Calcutta, India, in 1956. Later, recognizing the extraordinary interest and abilities of his Western students, he began teaching in America in 1965.
He has composed music for several films in India namely "Aandhiyan" by Chetan Anand (1953) "House Holder" by Ivory/Merchant, "Khudita Pashan" , "Devi" by Satyajit Ray, and, in America, "Little Buddha" by Bernardo Bertolucci.
Khan has been awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1989. He has also received several Grammy Nominations.

South Korea, became the top country with maximum number of broadband connections according to a study conducted by Washington-based Pew Research Centers Internet and American Life Project. South Korea has 95 percent of its homes broadband enabled. Five of the top 10 countries or territories in the survey were in the Asian region. Singapore ranked second on the list with household broadband penetration of 88 percent, followed by the Netherlands (85 percent), Denmark (82 percent), Taiwan (81 percent), Hong Kong (81 percent), Israel (77 percent), Switzerland (76 percent), Canada (76 percent) and Norway (75 percent).
India ranked 57th with two percent of homes having broadband connectivity in the survey conducted in 58 countries, where as the United states ranked 20th with 60 percent connectivity.

Indian T20 Cricket team's manager and Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) secretary V Chamundeswaranath has been suspended for allegedly seeking sexual favours from women cricketers for selection in the team. A few women cricketers have approached the association with a complaint that the secretary had been harassing them for sexual favours in return for a place in the team according to ACA president Gokaraju Gangaraju, TOI reports.
Chamundeswaranath denied the allegations and said that a conflict between players and non-players in the association is behind this and was confident that he will come clean of all charges.
Wikipedia, the world's largest user written online encyclopaedia has been converted into a book by Rob Matthews. The Wikipedia book which has 5,000 pages is 1ft 7ins thick and contains 437 featured articles from the website, reports The Telegraph.
22 year old editor Rob Mathews selected 'featured' Wikipedia articles for his book, from millions of articles to make the book 'shorter'.
Wikipedia currently has 2,911,451 articles in total in the English version alone as per the article count available on the main page. In comparison of popular encyclopedias, Wikipedia had about 1,400,000 articles with 340 million words in total, the Encyclopædia Britannica had about 85,000 articles with 55 million words in total, and Microsoft's Encarta had about 63,000 articles and 40 million words in total.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi said that he and his party DMK is ready to move a resolution in the Tamil Nadu assembly to retrieve Katchatheevu island given to Sri Lanka three decades ago.
The development comes after repeated attacks on Indian fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy around the island. He demanded that the action is necessary to protect Indian fishermen.
Katchatheevu island was given to Sri Lanka in 1974 under the terms that Indian fishermen will have access to the island and the nearby waters.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) board meeting held today has taken important decisions which are aimed to boost stock market by attracting investors. The revolutionary decisions include: (i) Listing of IPO on stock exchange with nationwide trading terminals
An unlisted company making an IPO shall list the securities on at least one stock exchange having nationwide trading terminals. This would provide a liquid trading platform to investors in securities of the company.
(ii) ‘Anchor Investor’ in public issues
An issuer making a public issue of shares through book building may allocate on a discretionary basis up to 30% of the QIB portion of the issue to anchor investors (AIs), who is a QIB. The minimum size of application by AIs would be Rs. 10 crore. They would bring in a margin of 25% on application and the balance 75% within 2 days of the date of closure of the public issue. There will be a lock-in of 30 days on the shares allotted to these investors from the date of allotment. No person related to the promoter/promoter group/BRLMs can apply as anchor investor. This would bring more certainty to transactions..
(iii) Holding period for shares offered for sale
Under the current guidelines, a shareholder can make an offer for sale of the equity shares if he has held them for a period of at least one year. Board decided that in case equity shares which are received on conversion of fully paid compulsorily convertible securities, including depository receipts are being offered for sale, the holding period of such convertible securities as well as that of resultant equity shares together would be taken into account for the purpose of eligibility.
(iv) Issue of shares with superior voting rights
No listed company can issue shares with superior voting rights. This will avoid the possible misuse by the persons in control to the detriment of public shareholders.
(v) Rationalisation of disclosure norms for rights issues
Since rights issues are made to existing shareholders, who are in possession of basic information about the company and have been receiving reports regarding major developments in the company on a continuous basis, it has been decided to rationalize disclosures in rights issue offer document by doing away with or modifying existing disclosure requirements. Disclosures that have been done away with include summary of the industry and business of the issuer company, promise vs. performance with respect to earlier/ previous issues, ‘Management discussion and analysis’. The disclosures relating to financial statements, litigations, risk factors, etc. have been simplified. Zylog Systems India has launched Wi5 (Wi-Fi) wireless internet service in Chennai, thus becoming the first Wi-Fi city in India.
The Wi-Fi services is currently available at Besant Nagar, Adyar and parts of Ashok Nagar and T Nagar and the entire city will come into service within one year.
