The Andhra Pradesh government has announced the schedule for the conduct of District Selection Committee (DSC) - 2008 for recruitment of 52,655 teachers by May 2009.
Of the total posts, there would be 12,252 school assistants, 30,558 secondary grade teachers, 7,018 language pundits, 2,789 PETs and 30 special teachers required by schools run for the visually-challenged and the hearing and speech-impaired.
Regionwise, Telangana would get 20,756 teachers, Coastal Andhra 20,858 and Rayalaseema 11,041.
Of the teachers being recruited, 50,063 would be posted in schools run by the School Education Department and the rest in municipal and tribal schools.
Notification for recruitment would be issued by the School Education Department on Sunday and district Collectors would issue notifications for existing vacancies being filled through DSC-2008.

Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), Government of India has announced a new Pension scheme for post-retirement life.
The scheme which came to effect from May 1, 2009 allows investors to choose their asset allocation as well as their fund managers.
The New Pension scheme has two types of accounts.
1. Tier-I account: Individuals can contribute their savings for retirement into this non-withdrawal account.
2. Tier II account: Under this saving facility, individuals are free to withdraw their savings whenever they require.
Tier I account is available for contribution from May 1, 2009. The commencement of the Tier II account will be announced later.
