Ashok Sahu, the BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Kandhamal seat in Orissa has been arrested on the charges of a hate speech.
Sahu, BJP candidate and president of state unit of Hindu Jagaran Samukshya (HJS), delivered the controversial speech at Raikia on April five in which he allegedly blamed Christians for the killing of VHP leader Swami Laxamananda Saraswati.

Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards 2008-09 were presented to 29 journalists in New Delhi yesterday. P. Sainath and Karan Thapar were chosen as ‘Journalists of the Year’ in print and broadcast categories respectively.
Winners of the other awards were Ms. Razdan of NDTV - reporting from Jammu and Kashmir, V K Sasikumar of CNN-IBN - reporting from the North-East. Mridu Bhandari of CNN-IBN - broadcast journalism.
The jury members for the Ramnath Goenka awards were the Chairperson and Editorial Director of Hindustan Times Shobhana Bhartia, renowned filmmaker Shyam Benegal and noted scientist M.S. Swaminathan.
The award is instituted by the Indian express group for the memorial of their founder Ramnath Goenka.

The Vishu Kani is an important observance of Vishu festival. The Vishu Kani Kanal is performed during the early morining on the Vishu day (April 14th) in which gold ornaments, fresh white cloth, a measure of rice or paddy, flowers of the Konna tree (Cussia fistula), halved jack fruits, oil lamps, halved coconuts, mirror, yellow cucumbe etc are placed along with Lord Krishna's idol. Tech Mahindra won the bid for Satyam, defeating L&T and Wilbur Ross. The company got 31% stake in Satyam for a sum of Rs. 1,757 crore. Tech Mahindra offered Rs 58 per share for the Satyam bid, while L&T made an offer of around Rs 49.
