Satyam CFO Srinivas Vadlamani attempts suicide
Srinivas Vadlamani, the chief financial officer of Satyam, who is also allegedly involved in the IT company’s financial fraud, attempted suicide early this morning, reports Times of India.
The CFO has been absconding from his home in downtown Malkajgiri for the last two days.
He is said to have attempted suicide in the house of some relative in Ameerpet area, sources said.

Byrraju Ramalinga Raju (born September 16, 1954) is the former Chairman of Satyam Computers. Satyam was established by Ramalinga Raju and is amongst the top Indian IT vendors with over one billion dollars in revenue. On January 7, 2009, Raju resigned from the Satyam board after admitting to corporate fraud.
Raju was born to Byrraju Satyanarayana Raju in Bhimavaram.
He has two brothers and a sister. Raju is married to Nandini. They have two sons, Teja Raju and Rama Raju, who runs the Hyderabad-based Maytas Properties and Maytas Infra and a daughter, Deepti, who is married.

This service has three modes of verification:
(1) Screen based verification
(2) File based verification
(3) Software (API) Based Verification
In case of valid PAN, name of the PAN holder, last date of PAN update as per ITD database and the status as “existing and valid” will be displayed. If the PAN is a fake PAN as per ITD database, the status will be shown as “Fake PAN”.
In case the PAN is not found in database, the response will be “not in ITD database”. In such cases, if the user is able to provide a proof of this PAN (copy of PAN card or PAN allotment letter), NSDL will forward the same to ITD for investigation.

Vaikunta Ekadashi is the Ekadashi that occurs in the Hindu calendar month of Marghazhi or Margashira or Margasirsa (corresponding to late December - January in English calendar). Vaishnavism (Worship of Lord Vishnu) culture believes that ‘Vaikunta Dwaram’ or ‘the gate to Lord's Inner Sanctum’ is opened on this day. Tech Mahindra, a Mahindra & Mahindra group company, has approached Satyam Computer Services, India’s fourth-largest IT services company, for a cashless merger, according to reports.
The merger between Tech Mahindra and Satyam, will form the third-largest IT company in the country.

(TechM) formerly known as Mahindra British Telecom (MBT) is a joint venture between Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M) and British Telecommunications plc (BT), UK with M&M holding 44% and BT holding 39% of the equity. Tech Mahindra has its headquarters at Pune, India. Tech Mahindra has grown rapidly to become the 6th largest software exporter in India (Nasscom, 2007) and 2nd largest Telecom Software Provider in India (Voice & Data, 2007). Indian telecom service provider Tata Teleservices Limited and Quippo Telecom Infrastructure Limited, promoted by the Kanorias of SREI Infrastructure Finance Limited, today announced the merger of their passive infrastructure businesses to create India’s largest Independent Telecom Infrastructure Company.
Tata Teleservices Limited and Quippo Telecom will swap 51 per cent and 49 per cent stake, respectively, in the infrastructure business held by them.

Satyam Computer Services, India's fourth-biggest software services exporter have approached HCL Technologies and MindTree Ltd about a merger, the Business Standard reports.

Every thing happened due to the movie Ghajini, in which Aamir Khan suffers from short-term memory loss who notes down functional information on his body, including a mobile phone number. This cell phone number happened to be of Ms Sarah Varghese
The scriptwriter wrote a random number in the screenplay which happened to be of the lady who is now receiving lot of calls and sms.
This phone number is also printed in poster of Ghajini all over India too.
Ms. Varghese has not yet complainted about this incident.

A fierce gunbattle between security forces and separatist militants continues to rage Sunday in the dense mountainous forest in frontier Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir after over 60 hours in which seven people - four militants and three security personnel - have been killed.
Militants are equipped with heavy weaponry and have a large quantity of arms and ammunition like Pica Guns with them.

Railway minister Lalu Prasad will feature in an animation film by Pawan Kumar a cartoonist from Bihar.

India signed a Rs 8,500-crore contract with US for the supply of eight Boeing P-8I long-range maritime reconnaissance (LRMR) aircraft for the Navy.
It is the biggest-ever deal with the U.S by India. All aircrafts will be available to India before 2015.
The LRMR planes will replace the eight Russian-origin Tupolev-142Ms of the navy.

The Boeing P-8 Poseidon (formerly the Multimission Maritime Aircraft or MMA) is a military aircraft currently being developed for the United States Navy. It is intended to conduct anti-submarine warfare, shipping interdiction, and to engage in an electronic intelligence (ELINT) role. This will involve carrying torpedoes, depth charges, Harpoon anti-shipping missiles, and other weapons. It will also be able to drop and monitor sonobuoys. It is designed to operate in conjunction with the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance unmanned aerial vehicle. The P-8 is to be built by Boeing's Integrated Defense Systems division from the 737-800.
P-8A is the production variant for the United States Navy and P-8I will be the export variant for the Indian Navy.
