Wokbolic a new low-cost Wi-fi/Internet connectivity by Onno Widodo Purbo

Onno Widodo Purbo, a former Professor and technology writer in Indonesia has created Wokbolic, a new technology which offers low-cost Wi-fi connectivity.

The new technology may seem funny to some because it uses a large, round-bottomed Chinese cooking vessel called Wok for offering low-cost internet connectivity. But Purbo has used a USB wifi pen drive and the Chinese Pot to enable cheap wireless connectivity up to three kilometres instead of the 100 metres range of a wifi pen drive.
