UIDAI Unique Identification Authority of India Identity Cards to All Indians

Nandan M. Nilekani, Infosys Technologies co-chairman has been appointed as the chairperson of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) by the Government of India. He has resigned from the Co-Chairman post of Infosys. The resignation has been accepted by the Infosys authorities. Nilekani will hold a position with cabinet rank as the chirman of UIDAI.

Unique Identification Authority of India UIDAI, works under Planning Commission of India wll provide Unique national identity cards to Indian citizens. The card will help citizens avail basic government services like driving licenses, passports and voter identity cards. The project will start issuing identity cards from 2011 onwards.
