The Sathyabama Satellite Nano satellite developed by Sathyabama University, Chennai

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will launch a nano satellite designed and developed by students of Sathyabama University, Chennai. The Sathyabama Satellite, with a payload of 10 kg, is developed for studying air and earth surface pollution.

The satellite is in the developmental stage and will be ready to launch in June 2010. A team of 27 third-year engineering students along with Mr.V Kannan, head of the VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) is working behind the project. A Space Technology Centre has been established to conduct advanced research in space science in the University.
