Do you wear tight jeans/pants? Beware of Meralgia Paresthetica

Wearing too-tight pants could result in a nerve condition called meralgia paresthetica, commonly seen among young women as per studies.


The condition may be identified with the following symptoms: Pain on the outer side of the thigh, occasionally extending to the outer side of the knee, usually constant. A burning sensation, tingling, or numbness in the same area. Multiple bee-sting like pains in the affected area etc.

Meralgia paraesthetica, is numbness or pain in the outer thigh by injury to a nerve that extends from the thigh to the spinal column. Often it may be mistaken as pain from some injury to the thigh, but it is dangerous if not treated. The problem can be be remedied by changing the dressing style and by wearing looser pants.
