FIFA Player of the Year 2008 - Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo has won the FIFA World Player of the Year 2008 award.
Ronaldo (Portugal/Man U) secured 935 votes followed by Lionel Messi (Argentina/Barcelona) with 678 votes and Fernando Torres (England/Liverpool) with 203
The jury members included national team captains and coaches, and the results were announced by Pele.
The woman player of the year 2008 award was won by Brazil's Marta for the third time.
